This Persian rug is in the categories of Persian Rug (Persian Carpet), Isfahan Persian Rug (Isfahan Persian Carpet) and Antique Persian Rug (Antique Persian Carpet), and it has been introduced and provided by Persian Carpet Collection. This classical antique rug is preserved in impeccable condition. Upholding Isfahan’s reputation for very finely woven, stylized botanical carpets, it features a stunning display of finely wrought detail, a highly intricate and compact design, and a gorgeous palette of elegant colors. The main field depicts a tree of flowing branches and waving leaves, constructed in an almost mosaic fashion, producing patterns within patterns. It creates a graceful sense of movement that erupts in a wondrously overflowing canopy at the top, then unfurls back down the rug. The liberal use of scarcely found green tones throughout the design adds to the rug’s prodigious appeal. 10’ 2” x 6’ 10” 310cm x 211.5cm Circa 1940

Exquisite Pair of Antique Isfahan Very high quality twins from the fabled Ahmadi school of the early 1900s. Beautifully detailed design and terrific weaving finesse, all brought to vivid life with attractive and saturated natural dyes. A fine example of the pre-Seirafian group of cotton-warp Isfahan rugs associated with the workshop of the famous Agha Ahmad, after whom they are named. The color palette here is warmer than other Ahmadi rugs and the handle is firmer with softer wool. It is quite rare for identical pairs of these to have been made. Full pile, sweet touch. Fun fact: I bought the first one many years ago and later on inherited the twin from my dad Allah yerhamo. Kismet! The first photo shows both rugs together FYI. 212 x 142 Each Circa 1925 Available, please DM for price.

This Persian rug is in the categories of Persian Rug (Persian Carpet), Isfahan Persian Rug (Isfahan Persian Carpet) and Antique Persian Rug (Antique Persian Carpet), and it has been introduced and provided by Hadi Maktabi Gallery. We see here the most famous and recognizable of all Isfahan designs, the Eslimi spiraling arabesques that twirl so musically around the medallion. What catches both the eye and breath is the alluring turquoise blue which is inspired by and woven in homage to the city’s rich architectural history best symbolized by the blue capped domes and minarets from the Seljuk and Safavid periods. The tonality of the blue here, however, is different from later Isfahan carpet blues. It has an aura, a depth that invite the viewer in to an azure sea and loses them in its waves. The abrashed field adds to the allure and mystique and is far from flat or tepid as other blues may end up looking. This is due to the formidable vegetable dyes used in this carpet. They, and the unorthodox size, confirm this is an early (i.e. very old) Isfahan masterpiece a full generation before the establishment of the Seirafian workshops. 400 x 270 Circa 1920 Perfect condition Available, shipping worldwide Please DM for price
