TABRIZ-Brilliantly conceived, the mark of the master designer Hadji Jallili is evident in every attribute of this enrapturing large place -size carpet, including its extremely fine weave, riveting clarity of design with many artful nuances, and delicate shading of its resonant earthy colors. A dazzling array of Rococo vinery supports a cultivar of sharply etched, nuanced foliage on a seldom-seen deep blue field. Wreath-like flowering boughs and bouquets fill the multifarious spaces around the elaborate plexus. These elements create an ambiance of graceful elegance inspired by nature and hint at paradisiacal gardens beyond. Scintillating shades of sky blue are briefly introduced in the tracery near the bottom, an illuminated reminder of the extreme technical skill required to achieve such finesse. Remarkably, this rare treasure of the court weaving tradition offers heavier pile condition at over 150 years old.
