Well another weekend has come and gone, but in addition to cooking some great food to share with wonderful friends, we managed to photograph and list this jaw dropping Serapi. The following text is directly from the post on our website:
Antique Heriz Serapi rug with a finely rendered botanical architecture full of crisp energy. A luminous navy blue ground displays stylized leaves and blossoms in soft tones of sea green, rose pink, sky blue, maroon, pale apricot, and dusty rose. The border and medallion are rich cherry red with the corner spandrels and large palmettes in cream. This connoisseur level Serapi grade Heriz has been very finely hand knotted by skilled weavers using a subtle range of vegetable dyed colors and lustrous hand spun wool.
Size: 9'8"x13'5"
Age: 1920
Origin: Heriz, Northwest Persia
Materials: Hand knotted handspun wool pile on a cotton foundation. Natural dyes.
Condition: Excellent condition overall with medium/low pile over most of the rug. Shows light signs of use and a very small repair near one corner. Ready to enjoy.
