This Persian rug is in the categories of Persian Rug (Persian Carpet), Nomadic Persian Rug (Nomadic Persian Carpet) and Bakhtiari Persian Rug (Bakhtiari Persian Carpet), and it has been introduced and provided by Hadi Maktabi Gallery. An early Bakhtiar Garden Carpet of ‘Tree’ or ‘Forest’ variety, with the most sensational natural dyes. This is a variation of the Bīd Majnūn style, executed with conviction and panache. The XXL size suggests it was woven in a Khan’s private workshop. It has an all wool foundation - yes, a startling thing - denoting a XIX century origin (unlike almost all Bakhtiari rugs). The deep saturation of the natural dyes confirms this.
