Its very clear drawing exudes a very seldom seen vitality, as a robust medallion virtually consumes the entire field, with grand-scale pendants and highly creative expansive botanical forms that appear to float majestically. Based in warm carnelian to terracotta, the brilliantly abrashed field creates a compelling sense of movement and profound depth to underscore the entirely successful design. This over 145-year-old, oversize carpet also offers unusually fine, lustrous wool, is extremely tightly knotted and in virtually full, original pile condition.
