Like a giant puzzle each row seamlessly interlocks with the other, infinitely repeating according to the traditional belief of the rug designer and weavers. Bakhtiari rugs woven before 1880 are renowned for their extremely durable wool and luminous color derived from natural dyestuffs. The design is punctuated with striking color tones, such as dusky rose, emerald green, aqua and sapphire, adding even greater visual interest to this highly animated carpet. Happily, as well as being a fascinating decorative composition, it is in excellent, heavier pile condition 10' 7" x 30' 6" 343cm x 894cm 19th Circa 1850
