The symmetry is absolute, the detail so fine the bend of each boteh (paisley-like motif) in the field, and each cypress tree in the main border is stirring. Together all the elements seem to pulse in place around and on top of the many tonal layers in the copper field, creating a sense of dimensionality that comes and goes dynamically as one's eyes scan across this rug. The contrast between the field's warm depth and the secondary palette of soft yellows and cool blues serves the intended entrancing effect.
