The warmth of the auburn ground tone adds the deepest notes to the splendid range of warm and cool secondary mid-tones. Skillful color striation, known as abrash, adds to the sense of animation and depth. Astonishingly, this 130-140-year-old carpet is in excellent, heavier pile condition.
