Secrets that require eloquent language! 8' 10" x 9' 8" 269cm x 295cm Circa 1910 From its sunny visage to its charming border of leaves and conifers and its nearly square dimensions, this antique Heriz is a unique and congenial carpet. Presenting the commanding medallion, overscale pendants, and roomy spandrels of this style’s signature rug design, a splendiferous array of fanciful botanical motifs, each “hand-drawn” with a decided whimsy, fill the originally contoured reserve. The rug’s glowing colorway is that of the hour before sunset when yellows are citrus and gold and rays of persimmon, papaya, and fire opal begins to take over the sky. Perfectly balancing this warm glow are lapis blue upper corner pieces and marine blue lower ones that dynamically complete this spirited, artistic room size example. Woven with Azerbaijan’s renowned mountain oily wool, the surface is lustrous while offering a strong, hard-wearing tensile strength.
