A throng of fanciful blossoms repeats throughout this grand antique carpet, always individualized by virtue of the hand knotting of skillful weavers drawing from a template rather than a knot by knot cartoon. Many unique colors were deftly created from natural dyestuffs to enhance this major piece, including amber, peach, citrine, olive, pine and Prussian and sky blue. Its striking overall pattern is imbued with masterful overall harmony of color and design meant to unify a large, gracious space.
