An unusually fine weave and closely shorn pile lend crystal clarity to the large proportioned design. An abundance of delightful hues, including glowing golds, apple green, salmon, copper, vermilion, and apricot, support its entirely singular grand aquamarine medallion, given tremendous visual depth by skillful abrash (intentional color striation). Wide ivory corner pieces contribute stately outlines and pastel botanical forms. This stunning 120-year-old carpet in superb condition is the perfect fit for a grand parlor or entry hall where natural light can energize its resonant natural hues, although it would shine brilliantly in virtually any environment. 14' 6" x 18' 3" 442cm x 556cm Circa 1900
