ISFAHAN RUG TREE OF LIFE! A Corner of Collection ISFAHAN Carpets! with harmony of design and color! which has given a special beauty to this carpet! This carpet is attributed to the acclaimed Persian painter, Mirza Agha Emami from Isfahan. 8' 5" x 6' 2" 278.5cm x 203cm Circa 1900 An ivory ground with a large polychrome blooming tree, deer and birds. A dark blue main border with cloud bands, a palmette and flower vine. Partly some wear, stains, discoloured areas, one small hole. The sides and ends have fold wear and minor damages, one end has a tear. In this wondrously botanical, excellent quality antique Persian Isfahan rug, striking naturally dyed hues of carmine red, gold and apple green distinguish a wondrous depiction of the entrance to a heavenly garden. Two exquisite, overscale birds draw the viewer's eye through the profuse, masterfully executed foliage. Its broad borders reveal its weaver's great dexterity. The main border contains swirling vinery surrounding crown-like orchids, while its pair of guard stripes reveal a ghosted image of this theme, drawn in unfathomable detail. This well over a century-old Persian city rug remains in heavy pile condition for many decades of additional floor use.
