The level of detailing and shadings attest to its maker’s great weaving dexterity and her vision of the abundance of the natural world in which she spent her life. The tremendous range of complementary colors she accessed features many hues that are very rarely seen in naturally dyed rugs, including incredibly challenging to yield pale to deeply saturated greens and diluted to saturated rose reds. Ever-closer inspection reveals countless endearing flourishes, such as bushels of grapes in the two spandrels.
