This 145-year-old, extraordinarily finely crafted carpet will transform its surroundings by the sheer magnitude of its beauty. The delicately drawn, transparent center medallion is a tour-de-force, blending tulips, roses, scrolling boughs and fronds seamlessly to create a continually layered, perfectly integrated botanical whole. Lace-like inner lattices framing the field are completely one-of-a-kind, adding further subtlety to this court-inspired Persian art rug. It has medium pile and expertly executed rewoven areas.
