On a grand scale and in unfathomable heavy pile condition at nearly 150 years of age, this absolutely exquisite, incredibly finely knotted oversize carpet is the creation of the workshops of the renowned master designer, Hadji Jallili (Haji Jalili). A majestic, perfectly balanced series of concentric medallions radiates outward, filling its great expanse with a graceful sensibility of line and delicately nuanced hues. Close inspection reveals sumptuous tones of powder blue, peach, tangerine, jade, celadon, and many other sublime colors. While well-maintained, top-tier room-size antique Hadji Jallili Tabriz carpets have become incredibly difficult to find, wonderfully preserved, masterwork caliber oversize examples such as this are infinitely rarer. 12’ 5” x 19’ 0” 378cm x 579cm Circa 1875
