About Se Gonbad Tower
Se Gonbad Tower is a tomb in the southeast of Urmia. On the entrance of this building, there is a stone cornice in Kufic inscribed in 580 A.H. Therefore, this building maybe belongs to 6th century A.H. According to these cornices, this building was constructed to the order of one of Seljuk commanders. In terms of architecture, it is very similar to other tombs of Seljuk Era. Se Gonbad Tower includes a high cylindrical platform. The first floor is called the crypt. The second floor is the tomb room that is constructed on the crypt like other tombs of Seljuk Era. Adornments of the entrance door of tomb are of unique beauty and it is adorned with pieces of stone, plaster and geometrical shapes as well as Kufic calligraphy. The lower part of this building is made of gray carved stones and the upper part from square bricks.
