About Tang-e Sayyad Protected Area and Tang-e Sayyad National Park

Tang-e Sayyad region is a high and mountainous area that is located near Farrokh Shahr, in Shahr-e Kord County. This region includes Tang-e Sayyad National Park in the middle and Tang-e Sayyad Protected Area around it. The area of this region is about 27,000 hectares, 21,600 hectares of which is the protected area and about 5,400 hectares is the national park. The highest mountain in Tang-e Sayyad region is Jiloon Peak with a height of 3,141 meters from sea level. Tang-e Sayyad region is a good habitat for rams and ewes species due to having many ridges. In addition, the south mountains of Tang-e Sayyad region have impassable cliffs that are the habitat of leopard and wild goat with a significant population. The animal life of Tang-e Sayyad region includes species like leopard, wolf, jackal, hyena, fox, ram, ewe, wild goat, and birds like eagle, dull-yellow partridge, cauasian partridge and gray partridge. The vegetation of this region includes fig, wild grape, wild almond, wild sour cherry, variety of grasses, astragalus, common thistle, rheum, Equisetaceae, thymus, chamomile, common fumitory, broadleaf plantain, fennel, flixweed, common chicory and licorice.
