About Masoudieh Mansion
Masoudieh Mansion belongs to Qajar Era and it is located on Baharestan Square, Tehran. This mansion was constructed in 1295 A.H. and the foundation of many cultural activities of the country is laid in this building. For example, about 1925, the Education Society founded the first official library of Iran in one of the chambers of this building and later, this library became the base for the National Library. A few years later, another room in this mansion was attributed to ancient antiques obtained from all corners of Iran and in fact, the first museum of Iran was founded. During 1963-1964, Masoudieh Mansion was used as Officers' Academy for a short time. In 1966, this mansion was entrusted to the Ministry of Education and the first Ministry of Education was founded there. Masoudieh Mansion has been registered as a national monument of Iran.
