About Imam Square

Imam Square is the main square of Isfahan which is also known as Naghsh-e Jahan Square. There are some monuments on the four sides of the Imam Square such as Aali Qapu, Imam Mosque, Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque and Qeyasariyeh Gate. In additional to these structures, there are 200 two-story chambers on the sides of the square which sell handicrafts of Isfahan. Imam Square, in addition to being registered as a national monument in Iran, is among the first monuments registered in the UNESCO's World Heritage List.

Isfahan is the capital of Isfahan Province. It is Iran's third largest city after Tehran and Mashhad. The city is located in the lush plain of the Zayandeh River, at the foothills of the Zagros mountain range.
