About Dokhtar Bridge
Dokhtar Bridge is one of the buildings of Safavid Era that is constructed on the Karaj River on the remnants of an older bridge attributed to Seljuk Era. Reconstruction of Dokhtar Bridge in Safavid Era has given this bridge the view of bridges of Safavi Era. The side pillars of this bridge are established on rocks and side slopes of the river instead of being founded on riverbed and rubble and mortar are used in their construction. However, the main body of the bridge is made of bricks. The view of Dokhtar Bridge is of great glory due to its great arc and it has created a great view on the Karaj River. Dokhtar Bridge has been registered as a national monument of Iran.
