About Malek Mosque

Malek Mosque or Imam Khomeini Mosque belongs to fifth century A.H. and Seljuk Era and it is located in Imam Khomeini Street, in the old texture of Kerman. Malek Mosque is the largest mosque of Kerman that was constructed to the order of Malek Tooran Shah the First. This mosque is a four-porch mosque with brick dome, numerous middle aisles, three plasterwork altars, a wide courtyard and eye-catching brickwork adornments. Various parts of this mosque are reconstructed in various eras. The parts remained from Seljuk Era are the brick tower on the northeast side and three plasterwork altars. Malek Mosque has been registered as a national monument of Iran.
