Dareh Dam belongs to late Zand and early Qajar Era and it is located in the south of Birjand, in the middle of Bagheran Mountain Range. Since the water of this dam passes the upper and lower valleys, this dam has been known as Dareh Dam (Valley Dam). Following mountain grooves, Dareh Dam is constructed on the most appropriate part of the lower valley on sedimentary floor of the riverbed. Materials used in this dam are brick, stone, lime and mortar. Dareh Dam has been registered as a national monument of Iran.
