About Bagheri House
Bagheri House belongs to Pahlavi Era and it is located in Gorgan in the neighborhood of Sarchesmeh. This building is the most prominent building in the historic texture of Gorgan, which has remained intact. The span of Bagheri House and avoiding the compression of spaces, the high number of openings, the high connection of closed areas with open ones and the rooms being surrounded with open spaces on three sides, thick pillars, good orientation of the building, tiled and steep roofs, as well as the height of downstairs from the ground are some properties of climatic architecture in this building. The major materials used in its construction are wood, tiles, adobes, thatch, stone, plaster and glass; however, the best performance of architects and builders of Bagheri House is observed in its wooden elements. Doors, windows, railings and lion heads are those parts of the building in creation of which the peak of delicacy and art is observed and in fact, each one of them is a valuable artwork alone. In addition, the way of applying wood with various sections in structural elements of the building including bridges, lintels, beams, pickets and lion heads that shows the high precision of builders in selecting and using materials. Safety and stability of most of these structural elements that despite the long years of his life, have been spared from the harm of water, shows the architects and builders' knowledge of various kinds of wood and their structural properties. Bagheri House is registered as a national monument of Iran.
